THE STORE IS CLOSED THURSDAY but will be
OPEN FRIDAY from 10 am to 8 pm and
OPEN SATURDAY from 9 am to 4 pm
I've expressed my appreciation and gratitude before to you, our customers, our donors, our volunteers, our staff (and some of you fall into every. single. category. Wow.) - but since giving thanks is what Thanksgiving is all about - I wanted to begin this post there.
If you've been reading this blog for the whole eight plus years I've been writing it or just found me a month ago - thank you. If you've been a customer since the beginning (February of 2006) or stopped in for the first time a week ago - thank you. If you've called me and scheduled a donation pickup or dropped off a donation at the store - thank you. If you're a member of our volunteer board (and a large percentage of our board begin volunteering when Jubilee was first getting started - 12 years ago) - thank you. If you've been volunteering for a long time or just recently started - thank you. Thank you to warehouse staff who work extremely hard to keep both the warehouse and the showroom from becoming complete chaos and to staff at the front end who are handling customers and volunteers and pricing and arranging and selling. A special thanks to my guys who are out on the truck five days a week - no matter the weather - interacting with our donors and moving furniture out of ever type of home you can imagine. Phew. Thank you all!
Moving on. What follows are photos of just a few things that caught my eye yesterday when I was at the store that I'd like to show you.
this lovely faux fireplace is also a heater! Would really become a focal point in any room! Priced $250 and measures: 47 1/2" across, 16" deep and stands 41" high
very nice brown/black credenza/buffet with brushed chrome hardware for a modern look. Measures 67" across by 19" deep by 32 1/2" tall and is priced $135. Cool looking giraffe is $20
this three tiered rolling cart has a lift off tray and is gorgeous AND practical.
In excellent condition and priced $85
though there are some stains (see last two photos) and fading and wear - it's the kind that makes leather look better (in my opinion). Walter E. Smithe leather sofa for $195
two matching storage cabinets/dressers - both are in good condition (drawers stick a little).
I love the notched wood at the edge of the sides! Priced $95 each
I know these annual Christmas plates have a name - but I don't know it! Ha! A whole slew of plates (looks like they go back to the 1970s!) and they're priced $1 each! Wow!
sweet three drawer dresser for $35; matching six drawer dresser with hutch for $55 and I spotted a matching desk in another part of the store that I'll show you in a bit
AMAZING full size headboard, footboard and side rails for $85
fantastic Heywood Wakefield "golden" drawer in good condition for $85 (it should be noted this piece has NOT been painted by someone - this finish is from the manufacturer). Oh, and I found a matching desk in another area of the store and will show you later
wonderful glider with stationary ottoman (some ottomans also glide but this one doesn't).
Love the plaid! Priced $65 for both pieces
though the top of this dresser needs to be refinished - it's a nice piece and priced $45
GORGEOUS queen size sleigh bed with caning! LOVE it! The caning makes the piece less heavy looking. Headboard, footboard and side rails for $165 and one of our never-been-used queen size mattresses (prototype from the Serta Research and Development Dept) priced $325
freshly painted entry/sofa table for $155
FABULOUS antique makeup table with mirror and bench for $225
if you're willing to do a little work on these five Frederick Duckloe & Bros. Inc. out of Portland, PA colonial reproductions chairs then you'll have yourself some stunning chairs! We're selling all five for $95 and - wait until you hear this - they retail new for $599 EACH! Don't believe me? Check it out yourself! Wow. Oh, and they're amazingly comfortable too!
Heywood Wakefield desk that matches the dresser from earlier -
priced $65 and in excellent condition
other desk that matching some dressers I also showed you already - also in very good condition - priced $45 (I wonder if the hutch is supposed to go on this piece instead of the dresser?)
two of the sweetest Hickory Furniture Co. loveseats ever! Both in very
good condition and are priced $55 each
flatted out the bench cushion on these Harden pieces - shine up the wood legs - and these would be INCREDIBLE! Sofa is priced ONLY $35 and the loveseat is ONLY $25! Man alive - such a deal!
though it appears that the legs/base of this wood table was painted by the owner (and not by the manufacturer) and seem a little "chalky" to me - this is a nice table (measures 37" x 71") with six chairs and all is in good condition. Priced $90 for the whole set!
do a little adjusting/fluffing/vacuuming of these Room & Board pieces and you'll be stylin'! Gray/blue/green micro-suede that going to change color depending on the light.
Sofa is priced $195 and the loveseat $145
two tile top low end tables that are AMAZING! AND priced only $15 each!
Wondering if is going to get into the whole "Black Friday" thing? Wonder no more - the answer is YES - and in a big way! Look at these amazing bargains! Quick note: if you see two photos of what looks like the same price tag and think, "Susan is REALLY losing it - poor thing." I'm not...yet! Haha! It means there are TWO matching/identical pieces and both are part of our Black Friday sale.
I can't end this post without mentioning Olga. Each year - for the last five or six years - it would be the Thanksgiving post where I'd show you a bunch of her handmade afghans that we'd be selling for her. Olga passed away earlier this year and yet her afghans continue to provide beauty, color (some were really colorful!) and warmth to so many. Thank you, Olga - you are missed.
I pray, dear reader - you feel my appreciate and gratitude for YOU! God bless you and keep you. God make His face to shine on you and give you peace.
